4 Times Sarkodie Caused Havoc With His Songs.

Sarkodie the landlord of rap music in Ghana has many times in his music career caused havoc among his colleague rappers in the industry with some of the songs he releases. Today we will explore five songs released by Sarkodie that caused tension in the scene of rap music and Ghana as a whole.

1. Brag

Just as the title of the song Sarkodie brags about when he dominated the music industry before a certain reputable individual came into the limelight in the industry. In this song, Sarkodie was bold enough to call out names of Davido, Wizkid, and Burnaboy whom he claimed came to meet him making waves in the industry.

Nigerians hearing this showcased their furiousness on social media with Dremo a Nigerian rapper replying to Sarkodie in a diss song, however, he did not go scot-free. Ghanaian rapper Lyrical Joe also entered the studio and gave him a replied d$ss song he deserved.

Not only Nigerians were furious but also Ghanaian rappers, looking at the likes of M.anifest and Kwa Kesse who exhibited their subliminal messages on the social media platform.

2. Inflation

Eight years back Sarkodie expressed his furioness and opinions about the economy of Ghana questioning the leadership of John Dramina Mahama who happens to be the president of Ghana under the National Diplomatic Party (NDC).

He went hard on the Mahama for mismanaging the economy of Ghana which comprised of power outages, and the low performance of Ghana currency against the American dollar. The song became a topic of discussion in the country to the extent that Sarkodie had to make part two of the song.

3. My Advice

From nowhere, and with no one expecting it, Sarkodie releases a song to his colleague Shatta Wale giving some advice about his life. In the song, Sarkodie made some strong statements and got the attention of many Ghanaians with many supporting Sarkodie and very few of the netizens opposing some comments made by Sarkodie in the song.

4. Happy Day

This is a song that got the attention of many Ghanaians with many netizens concluding that the artist supports the political party, New Patriotic Party (NPP), and for that matter, the song was meant to campaign for the party and not for his fans to enjoy. In the song, Sarkodie’s statement says “Nana Toaso” meaning he is advocating for His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo to continue in power. This caused a whole discussion in Ghana.
