Thetrillion-dollar tech company, Apple Inc, is rumored to be releasing a new flagship of their line of smartphones, theiPhone 14 series. This is expected to be an upgrade to their populariPhone 13 series, which was released around September last year.
People often claim Apple doesn’t make any major changes to their new line of phones, except for a few tweaks in design or camera qualities, and sell it at expensive prices. However, Others also argue against this claim, given that the iPhone 11 series saw somemajor changesfrom the X series and later. Now Apple is about to introduce their next series, the iPhone 14; how different is it from their 13 series?
No Mini’s
First of all, Apple plans toquit the production of the mini iPhonesdue to low sales in the market, meaning there is not going to be an iPhone 14 mini. That died with the 13 series. However, Apple now plans on pushing the max and pro max side of their series hence their 120Hz pro-motion display remains exclusive to their pro models.
Sizes
In terms of size, the 13 and 14 series will be basically the same. Starting at 6.1 inches with the base iPhone 13 and 14 and then 6.7 inches for the 13 pro max and 14 pro max.
iPhone 14 & iPhone 13 Camera
For the popular camera technology, we are expected to see some new improvements to the ultra-wide camera and a possibleintroduction of the periscope lenstechnology that could allow for up to 10x optical zoom. The new iPhone 14 model is also rumored to feature a 48-megapixel wide camera which is a huge improvement to the 12-megapixel camera in the 13 series.
Notch size
The iPhone 14 is expected to come with a smaller notch as compared to the iPhone 13. Apple calls this the TrueDepth camera array.
Chipset
We are also expecting to see a new A16 Bionic chip in the 14 series, an improvement to the 13’s A15 bionic, meaning more power and efficiency for the 14 series. Apple intends to slightly change the body design of the 14 series by making the body of the phone a little thicker to get rid of the rear camera bump.

While the starting price of the iPhone 13 mini began at GHs 4500, the iPhone 13 started at GHs 4,700.00, the iPhone 13 pro and pro-max started at GHs 6500 and GHs 7000 respectively. However, the iPhone 14 is expected to start at a GHs 5,100 base price with the max starting at GHs 5750, the pro starting at GHs 7,010, and GHs 7650 for the 14-pro max.
