How to prepare Hausa Koko/Recipe
Ingredients Needed
[1] Millet, 1 cup
[2] Cloves (not ground)
[3] Ginger (not ground)
[4] Chilli Pepper (optional): 1/2 spoon
[5] Sugar to serve
Add all the ingredients (except sugar) and blend them together into a powdered form to get the hausa koko mixture.
Step-by-Step Preparation of Hausa Koko
- Mash the powdered millet (mixture) and leave it to settle for 3–4 mins.
- Put water on fire and allow it to boil.
- Drain the water from the surface of the settled millet
- Pure the mixture into the water and stair (continue to stir until it becomes smooth with no lumps)
- Add a little water( if you want it to be light)
- Add a pinch of salt( not compulsory)
- Leave it on the fire to boil for 2–3 minutes.
- It’s ready. Carry from the fire.
- Serve with any accompaniment of your choice (bread, koose, koose-bread, buff loaf)
