Hilda Baci a Nigerian Chef, actress, movie producer, entrepreneur, and YouTuber. She was born on September 20th, 1996, to Mr. and Mrs. Effiong Bassey. Hilda Effiong Bassey is her biological name, and she hails from Nsit Ubium Local Government, Akwa Ibom, South Eastern Nigeria.
She has a sociology degree from Madonna University and has been cast in many Nigerian movies, like Dreamchaser, A Walk on Water, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert. As an entrepreneur, Hilda has built herself a fast growing restaurant named “Food by Hilda,” and she is the Head Chef.
Hilda Baci, as she is popularly known, began her cooking journey in 2020 and won the “Jollof Faceoff” competition in August 2021. She hosted “Dine on A Budget” on Pop Central TV on DSTV.
Her business journey began as a result of the love she has for cooking for family and friends. As the CEO and Head Chef of her restaurant, “Food by Hilda,” she works effortlessly and tirelessly to make sure everyone who comes to her restaurant feels at home. Hilda’s business has gained her so much respect and avenues because of her innovation, creativity, and hard work. She has established many branches across Nigeria.
In March 2023, Hilda promised to break the world’s cooking record by an individual. She vowed to cook nonstop for four days. She named it “Hilda Baci Cook-a-Thon.” She started the marathon on Thursday, May 11, 2023, and ended on Monday, May 15, 2023. The cooking marathon was to last for 96 hours, but she extended it to 100 hours to set a new record.
Hilda broke the record set by Lata Tondo, a Chinese woman whose cooking marathon lasted 87 minutes and 40 seconds in 2019, with a 100-hour cooking marathon. She prepared over 270 dishes with different recipes.
She is an inspiration to many young entrepreneurs who want to give up on their businesses.
