The CEO of Wayne Chavis Record Label, Shadrach Agyei Owusu, also known as Snap Wayne Chavis, lamented how Black Sheriff’s exit has affected the Chavis record label.
The 24th VGMA Artist of the Year exited from his record label, Wayne Chavis Record, which affected his former manager, Snap Chavis.
Snap Chavis was highly disappointed and emotionally hurt by the Ghanaian superstar’s decision.
However, the cause and reason for his departure have not been disclosed to the public yet.
In a phone interview on Hitz FM, Snap Chavis was asked by the host if the departure of Black Sheriff had negatively affected the record label.
“Honestly, it did have an effect on the record label because you know to put all your trust in someone and just to wake up one day and witness what happened”. He responded.
On account of this, the CEO has changed his perspective on working with other artists on the record label. According to him, he has always treated Black Sheriff as a family and deals with him as such, not on a business level.
He further disclosed that the relationship between him and the other artist on the record label is strictly going to be on a business level because of the lessons he has learned from Black Sheriff’s departure.
“The freedom Black Sheriff was having, this new signee doesn’t have that kind of freedom because we have come to learn and change our style of living with these artists. Though it was considered a business, “whatever form of investment you do, you know someday somehow, you will live to recruit some money”.
Speaking further, he said, “We treated it as a brotherhood; we call it a business, but we working as a family, but currently, with the signees I am with, we are just doing business. There is nothing like family”.
