Portugal legend Christiano Ronaldo has added another record to his CV as the Guinness Book of Records recognizes and awarded him for being the Player with the most appearances in international games.
The five times Ballon d’Or winner is known for his relentlessness in pursuing his goals in his football career, which has gained him many followers and fans from football lovers and nonfootball lovers.
His eagerness to always push himself to the edge in order to set more records in football history has always made him different from other professional football players.
A player at the age of 38 and still making a tremendous impact in the world of football amazes most football lovers and that is what makes him different from the others.
However, before the European championship qualifiers match between Portugal and Iceland, Ronaldo was awarded a Guinness World Record for the most international caps for a male football player.
The player has been recognized for his consistent appearance in international games despite his age.
It is just another record for Ronaldo to add to his impressive resume in international soccer. With 122 goals in 200 games, the Al Nassr forward holds the record for most goals scored in international football history.
Ronaldo disclosed that he has no intention of retiring despite his age, he would still be appearing in international games as long as coaches and the football federation believes he can.
“I’ll stay here until I, the [football federation] president, and the coach believe I can. I’ll never give up coming here, because it’s always a dream. Representing the national team is the height of the career. I want to keep playing, and make my family, friends, and Portuguese happy.”
