Amerado Shares Why He Switched From Rapping To Singing.

Ghanaian rapper Amerado who has many times proved his stance and dominance in rap music has recently shared on the reason why he transitioned to singing.

The five-time Best Rapper of the Year from different award schemes transitioned to singing which got some of his fanbase disappointed while others also embraced his transition to singing.

What got many furious was that Amerado dropped a rap song with Strongman titled “Rap is still alive” and the next thing Ghanaians saw Amerado do was sing, soo many contradictions here.

However Amerado, in an interview with Andy Dosty sets the record straight as to why he had to transition to singing.

According to him, he believes that in as much as he can rap, he can also sing as well, and that way back in his early life he has been singing in his church. He stressed on the fact that he has always felt he can go beyond his limit.

The second reason he gave was that, he believes as an artist there is the need to evolve in your career, you can’t be doing the same thing over and over and expect a different outcome. To him, personally, he does not want to repeat himself which is the reason why he always wants to do something new.

His third reason was that commercially he sees himself as a product, in whom someone has invested in him, and for that matter, it is up to him to make sure anyone investing in him gets profit, which will enable him to also invest in other talents. He, however, disclosed that singing has opened the door for him to perform on international platforms, an opportunity he never had when he was rapping.

Speaking further he disclosed his fourth reason, which is that rap music is in recession, and this is not happening in Ghana but globally. According to him, he was being called for shows when he was rapping.

He then cautioned that, to stay relevant in the music industry you have to study the trend in the music industry and hop on it. Amerado also recalled for the past seven to eight years a rapper has not won Artist of Year.
