Ghana Police arrested Ghanaian musician Black Sheriff on July 19, 2023, after a cruise ship booked him for an event in Grece. The Cruise company claimed that the singer and his team failed to perform their part of the contract, despite taking large sums.
The promoter(Cruise People) demanded promotional videos, leading to a 20,000-dollar initial deposit. Black Sheriff’s agent was forced to refund the initial deposit, and the complainant demanded a refund of 50,000 dollars.
In an exclusive interview, the CEO shared details on his contract with Black sheriff’s agents and his team.
According to Daniel Vandapouye, he had his first point of contact with the management where there was an agreed charge of 40,000 US dollars and was later directed to the booking agent, where they agreed on the contract and provided all needed information to them.
After the payment, the Cruise decided to a media bliss because they can’t go ahead to do an event with media bliss, in view of this they requested for five to 10 seconds video of the artist confirming that he will be performing at that event.
“So we went ahead and we made the payment to them and based on that we decided to a media bliss, we can’t go just go ahead and do this and for that matter they should fulfill their part of their obligation, which is for them to send 5, 10 to 20 seconds video of the artist confirming that he gonna perform. Boss we waited, waited, several emails sent to them reminding them, we needed this”
“So I told the booking agents if by 3pm we don’t receive that video then there is no contract,” he added.
Speaking further he added that, they sent a breach of agreement letter to them, and indicated that they were amendable to have an amicable solution to the situation, and yet Black sheriff and his team did not respond.
“On the 22nd of May, we sent this breach agreement of letter to them, at the end of the day the last part of this was, our client is, however, amendable to workable proposal from you to address the demand contain hearing signed. So regardless of whatever we stated in here that if you don’t ABC or your breaches would have caused you, we ended by saying that we were amenable to having an amicable solution to this. Boss from 22nd May to date no response to this letter” He said.
