Bolt has announced the start of its services in Tamale, the Northern Region of Ghana. This is the company’s second expansion since the year began, as it continues to expand into new areas around the country.
The ride-hailing service has been operating in Ghana since 2017 and is currently available in Accra, Cape Coast, Kumasi, and Takoradi. This development is part of Bolt Ghana’s long-term objectives to provide Ghanaians with safe, inexpensive, and efficient transportation services
“It is no coincidence that we are offering our services in Tamale, the eighth city on our growing list of regions we operate in, in our Independence month,” said David Kotei Nikoi, Country Manager, Bolt Ghana.
“We recognize how far we have come as a nation since Ghana’s independence and that we are still on the path to the greatness that the visionaries who brought us to independence envisioned.” As a result, we at Bolt are eager to contribute to the economic independence and freedom of many persons,” Mr. Nikoi continued.
Tamale is the capital of the Northern Region of Ghana and hosts a lot of tourist attraction sites in the country. This will in my opinion help give riders comfort anytime they want to move from one attraction site to the other conveniently.
“Our expansion within the major cities is strategic. We believe that once earning opportunities are created within major towns, there is a trickle-down effect to other parts, hence our strategic expansion within the major cities of the regions. Additionally, extending our footprint to the Northern Region is a testament to our bid to give all Ghanaian riders the freedom to do more and opt for efficient transportation services and drivers, a means to financial and economic independence,” Mr Nikoi added.

Bolt is also giving cyclists the chance to win a supper for two at KFC if they upload a selfie of themselves riding the #BoltTamale ride with the hashtag #BoltTamale.
Furthermore, the organization’s recent expansion to Tamale demonstrates its dedication to creating earning opportunities that allow Ghanaians to achieve economic and financial independence.
