Ghanaian Afrobeats singer Camidoh, who just bagged Best International Collaboration of the Year at the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, had his debut BET nomination in the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act category of this year’s Black Entertainment Television Awards.
The sugar cane hitmaker put a smile on the faces of Ghanaians, with many congratulating him and praising him for promoting Ghanaian music.
Nominees in the category include Asake of Nigeria, Raye and Flo of the UK, Labianca of Cameroon, Maureen and Werenoi of France, MC Ryan FC of Brazil, and Pabi Cooper of South Africa. The list of nominees was released on June 8, 2023.
However, Ghanaians are not really optimistic about Camidoh winning this category because of great competitors like Asake from Nigeria.
When it comes to African music, Nigerians are known for their undeniable talents and conscious effort to promote their music in other countries.
On Sunday, June 25, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, USA, the awards will be presented.
However, fans and music lovers still have until Thursday, June 15 to choose their favorite to win honors.
