Chef Faila Cook-A-Thon Is A Suicide Mission-Blakk Rasta Shares His Concerns

Ghanaian radio personality and musician, Blakk Rasta, has sparked a spirited discussion regarding the ongoing Guinness World Record attempt by Chef Faila for the longest cooking marathon. This event, which has captured public attention, has also raised concerns about the potential health implications of such an extended culinary endeavor.

Blakk Rasta didn’t hold back, worrying about the consequences of depriving oneself of adequate sleep for an extended period. He voiced his apprehensions, labeling Chef Faila’s cook-a-thon as a ‘suicide mission’ and cautioned against partaking in marathons that could have detrimental effects on one’s health.

The radio personality highlighted the growing trend of various marathons in Ghana, citing examples such as sex-a-thons, stand-a-thons, and kiss-a-thons. Blakk Rasta emphasized the importance of not endorsing activities that involve prolonged periods without sleep, asserting that losing sleep for more than three days, in his view, constitutes a ‘suicide mission.’

In a video posted on Happyhome TV’s YouTube channel, Blakk Rasta firmly stated his concerns, saying, “I will not support that. I don’t know about you. You call it pushing the limit, but I call it a suicide mission. We pray that they do not lose their lives and that they learn a lesson that will help the whole nation.”

Chef Faila’s cook-a-thon was hosted at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale, however, Chef Faila officially ended her cook-a-thon at the 226-hour mark but her initial ambition was to reach the 240-hour mark. This marathon culinary endeavor has drawn attention for its potential record-breaking nature and the discussions it has ignited regarding the physical and mental toll such endeavors may take on participants.
