The 14 times champions league winner, Real Madrid eliminated the two times champions league winner Chelsea F.C. from the champions league.

Real Madrid arrived at London Bridge with a two-goal advantage, and they had so much confidence they were going to make it to the semi-finals.

Chelsea lost the first league of the champions league with a humbling 2-0 loss to Real Madrid as Benzema and Asensio made it to the net with both assisted by Vinicius Junior at Santiago Bernabeu, with Chelsea having only 3 shots on target and couldn’t take their chances.

It was at this moment Chelsea fans knew they had missed the chance of qualifying for the semi-finals.

However, the Brazilian star Rodrygo’s strike saw the Madrilenos beat Chelsea 4-0 on aggregate. This made a headline in football news because it has never happened before between these two teams, the gap between the aggregate goals has always been close.

Despite the disappointment from the fans of Chelsea, the head coach of Chelsea Frank Lampard assured fans that they will come back with more improvement. “I know what it takes to get back, from being a player for a long time before in the champions league. So we have to set those standards high again, and having a real clear direction of where we want to go is the way as I see it. So in my next seven games, I will do my mini version of that, and as I say if you can see performance rise, I think it will give the fans some good feeling and give us a good feeling in the summer and I think that’s as far we should look”. He said in an interview.
