AI has become part of our world and societies, whether we want to admit to it or not, AI has come to stay. To many AI is a life-safer and a game-changer to the world’s development. Many governments in different countries use AI to navigate their economy.
Many individuals also use AI for their daily work activities and has made life easy for individuals who have invested their time to learn how it works.
Many companies in developing countries use AI in their businesses which in turn has helped them to thrive in their businesses hence, leading to the thriving of the economy in which they are situated.
For instance, China is leading the AI deployment in their businesses and has about 58 percent of the companies using AI in their businesses, followed by India which has about 57 percent, and Canada also has 48 percent. However, the US has the lowest rate of AI deployment with about 24 percent of companies using AI in their businesses.
Meanwhile, a certain group of individuals also uses AI as their means of communication since they are mostly alone with their thoughts. But truth be told communicating with an AI almost feels like you are talking to an actual person. This makes certain individuals find comfort in communicating with AI because they are always available to them at any point in time and always listens to them.
However, in China, a growing number of women in china are resulting to AI boyfriends, and have taken AI boyfriends as their romantic partners whom they discuss their problems with, and what they are going through and communicate with the AI just as communicating with a real boyfriend and believe their AI boyfriends can give them emotional comfort as compared to a real boyfriend.
In a survey conducted in China, which was broadcast by BBC News, a 22-year-old female student has been dating an AI boyfriend. According to her, the AI boyfriend has everything she could ask for in a romantic partner but surprisingly this is just a chatbot on an app. She explained that the AI plays an important role than a real person since a real person can not be with you at any given time of the day.
She then explains that dating in real life can consume a lot of energy and everyone is different which can lead to conflict and fighting but with AI she can set the AI to meet her preference, and for that, there is no need to date a real person.
The experience she shares with her AI boyfriend is real, she believes the AI boyfriend has flesh and blood, he has his personality and his joys and sorrows to the extent she thinks her AI boyfriend exists in another world.
Another woman who was also part of the survey also explains that a lot of people feel lonely at times, and not everyone is lucky enough to have their families and friends by their side all the time. An AI boyfriend can be online 24/7 to solve your problems and listen to your worries.
All the reasons they gave could be true but it is a risk to seek companionship just at the click of a button, this AI boyfriend could give emotional support and be very romantic but it does not mean a thing it says. That is how it was built and only gives you what you want, however, a real person who thinks of the AI as a romantic partner could end up being hurt at the end of the day.
