Christian Atsu, ex Black Star player who passed away unexpectedly on February 6, 2023 as a result of an earthquake in Turkey, is laid to rest today 17th March,2023 at the state house.
His wife, kids, and the entire family, along with other well-wishers were all present.
Several ex-football players, including Sulley Muntari, Stephen Appiah, John Mensah, John Painstill, Richard Kingston, Prince Tagoe, Austin Arhinful, former Togo football player ,Emmauel Adebayor and Internatinal players as well as the new Black Star coach Chris Hughton and his assistant, Goerge Boateng, were present to show their respect and bid him farewell.
H.E. Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo the President of Ghana and his Vice Mahamadu Bawumia,the ex-President John Mahama, Dignitaries and MPS, were all present to support the family and to offer the late Christian Atsu a dignified funeral
It was a sad moment when Marie-Claire Rupio, the late Christian Astus’s wife, broke down in tears while reading her tribute to him.
Atsu’s final rites of passage will take place in his hometown, where he will thereafter be laid to rest. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace. Ghanaians and others all across the world will always remember him for being such a good person to the needy and the poor.
