Mobile banking is the process of conducting transactions on your bank account via your phone without necessarily using the internet. Such forms of banking are conducted with USSD shortcodes.

What is Internet Banking?
Internet banking is the process of performing online transactions through your PC, laptop, or even your phone over an internet connection, making payments from your bank account mostly using your credit card, bank apps, etc.

E-banking makes it possible for users to access their bank accounts from anywhere in the country. Transfer money from account to mobile money wallet, track spending, review account history, locate nearby ATMs, deposit checks, pay bills, and receive account-related text messages and notifications.
Most banks in Ghana these days have taken advantage of technological advancements to meet the needs of their customers, and in the process and created e-banking services like mobile banking apps and USSD banking codes to help them transact anywhere, anytime.
People can make use of these banking apps and shortcodes only over a phone that has the sim card registered or an active internet connection.
For some banks, in-person visitation is required to activate your mobile number on these platforms.
