ECG Power App: Everything you need to know about the new ECG App

With the Electricity Company of Ghana joining the national digitization drive, the need to render its services digitally is in order.

A recent development from the ECG shows a strong commitment to using technology to render services to its large base like electronic power payments, fault reporting, and purchasing consumer power units (prepaid).

According to the ECG, their two main reasons for going digital are (i)to use technology in delivering power to its customers and (ii) to solve revenue mobilization issues.

Of course, while there are still little issues surrounding the Electricity Company of Ghana’s digitization agenda, customers purchasing electricity credits from the comfort of their homes without joining “notorious” queues at these vending centers should be one of the best decisions by the power company in a while.

But then, is the power app only for prepaid buying? Why should someone download this app in the first place?

As a homeowner, having this app on your mobile phone is not only for prepaid purchases but also serves as the only interface you have to interact with the Electricity Company of Ghana.

A recent development from the ECG suggests that customers will now be required to do everything through the ECG Mobile App. For example, requesting new meters, additional loads, and more.
