Ghanaian actor and pastor, Timothy Bentum, has recently disclosed the challenging 17-year journey he endured while battling with substance abuse.
Bentum candidly admitted to battling a severe addiction to cocaine and other drugs, which ultimately led him to resort to selling his father’s possessions to sustain his habit.
During an interview with Accra-based Joy News, Bentum recounted the profound depths to which his addiction plunged him.
“I was gone, and it was an everyday thing. I was heavily addicted; I literally sold everything in my father’s house,” he lamented.
Despite the severity of his addiction, Bentum expressed profound gratitude for his eventual deliverance, attributing his recovery largely to divine intervention.
He emphasized, “Personally, I don’t think I have a clinical explanation to it because God played a huge role in my life. My case is strange because I had no withdrawal symptoms, I had no running nose.“
