Ghanaians Will Pressure You To Release A Song, And They Will Forget In Two Weeks – Sefa

Ghanaian Afrobeat Sensation, Sefadzi Abena Amesu with a stage name Sefa has disclosed that Ghanaians are quick to lay pressure on artists to release songs but forget their songs in a short period of time.

Sefa, a talented Ghanaian Afrobeat artist, was born on May 17, 1995, in the Northern region of Ghana. She is a composer and performer signed to DBlack’s ‘Black Avenue Muzik’ label.

Born to mixed-ethnicity parents, she is the second of four siblings from Afife, a community in Ghana’s Volta Region.

In a recent interview on TV3, she shared how Ghanaians pressure artists to release a song, and just after two weeks of releasing the songs it becomes a thing of the past to them.

According to Sefa, Ghanaians have a short memory span, they easily forget the songs released by artists and rather pressure artists to release new songs.

“With me, because I like enjoying my passion, I want people to enjoy it too. In as much as this is my profession now, I want people to listen to the songs and be like ‘Okay she has put out a song so let me consume”. She said

In addition, she shared that, if you always succumb to the pressure as an artist you might end up releasing many songs and Ghanaians wouldn’t know one out of the many songs an artist releases.

“Ghanaians have a short memory span. If you release a song today, They can forget it in two weeks and they will be pressuring you for a new one. If you follow them, you will release like thousand songs and they will not know one”. She lamented
