After 25 years of being the default browser on all Windows machines, Internet explorer says goodbye to the windows community worldwide. Microsoft has announced that it will be ending support for Internet Explorer by June 2022.
Who still uses Internet Explorer these days? We only use Internet Explorer when we buy a new laptop and want to install Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Customers abandoned the browser over time, and it will be phased out over the next year.
Microsoft has also stated that it intends to improve Microsoft Edge to compete with other “modern” browsers. “We are announcing that the future of Internet Explorer on Windows 10 is in Microsoft Edge.” the company stated in a blog.
“Not only is Microsoft Edge a faster, more secure and more modern browsing experience than internet explorer, but it is also able to address a key concern: compatibility for older, legacy websites and applications,”…goes on to say. “With Microsoft Edge capable of assuming this responsibility and more, the internet explorer 11 desktop application will be retired and go out of support on June 15, 2022.”
For the time being, if you’re still using Internet Explorer, your days are numbered.
