Google Pixel Watch: specs, release date, price in Ghana

If you are a smartwatch lover in Ghana, then I have great news for you. Google is going head to head with Apple & Samsung after announcing the Pixel Watch. The Watch will be available and ready for shipping later this year. Whew, Finally.

Google has been rumored to join the wearables market since 2020 after the release of the pixel 5. However, these were mere speculations that were shot down by internal officers from Google.

Later this year, the rumors became intense when a “testing model” of the smartwatch was left and found at a restaurant in the U.S. According to sources, the found Watch belonged to an engineer in the Pixel internal team. Pictures of the device leaked online with a clean, minimalist design.

Meanwhile, the pixel smartwatch will be Google’s first wearable hardware device, although it has been providing OS support for many wearable devices with its WearOS.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves – will the new smartwatch live up to its expectations? Here is what we know so far.

Pixel Watch release date

Google hasn’t given a particular date for the release of the smartwatch. However, Google has a history of releasing most of its hardware products in October every year. We expect the Pixel 7 to be shipped alongside the Watch.

Specs

Unlike the Apple Watch which is square in design, the Pixel Watch has a “bold circular” design giving it a minimalistic appearance that appeals to everybody. 

It comes with 1.5GB RAM and 32GB storage. The device will be running the latest WearOS with Google services integration like Assistant, Gmail, calendar & photos. 

The Pixel smartwatch will be integrated with Fitbit features to track sleep patterns, monitor heart & oxygen rate, etc. The device will come in three (3) colors namely: grey, black, and gold. It will also come with a 300 mAh battery and a USB lightning-C charger.

Pixel Watch price in Ghana

The Pixel Watch is expected to cost between GHS 2,712.50 and GHS 3,100.00.

Where to buy the pixel watch in Ghana

The smartwatch will be available for shipping later in October this year at selected electronic shops in Ghana.

There are a lot of smartwatch brands to choose from in Ghana like; the Apple watch series, the Samsung Galaxy Watch, Huawei smartwatches, etc. However, you may want to pick a Watch that has features aligned with your lifestyle. 

The Apple Series Watch starts from GHS 1,500.00 to about GHS 3,200.00 for the Series 7. 

The Samsung Galaxy watch starts at GHS 2,700.00 to about GHS 2850.00.

The Huawei smartwatch starts from GHS 700.00 to about GHS 1800.00 at Franko phones.
