Afua Asantewaa embarked on the Guinness Book of Records of the longest singing earlier this year in January, she sang continuously for 5 days, where she got so much support from all Ghanaians.
After her successful attempt at the record, Ghanaians has been anxiously waiting for the results to confirm if she will be the record holder of the longest singing marathon.
However, in February the results came from the Guinness Record and unfortunately for Afua and Ghanaians she failed the attempt, this brought a whole lot of speculations and opinions from netizens.
According to information gathered on the internet, Afua had already been notified by Guinness but kept it a secret until Guinness Record themselves had to come out and announce to Ghanaians her attempt failure.
Many Ghanaians were disappointed in Afua for not being able to announce her failure in the attempt, they felt Afua Asantewaa did not give them the respect they deserved and some also felt being taken for granted by Asantewaa because the news did not come from her.
However, according to Afua, she received an email notification from Guiness Record alright, but she hasn’t been able to log into her Guiness Record account to view the notification they sent.
According to her, to date, she has been trying to log in but all attempts made to log in have been unsuccessful, she has done all that she could, to even reach out to Guinness Records that she has been trying to log in to her account but has been unsuccessful and shared the email she used in creating the account with them.
In an interview on Hitz FM Showbiz, she stated that the Guinness Record responded to her that the email she provided could not be found in the system.
“I feel they[Guiness Records] the hit because we were coming right now and they responded that they can not find my email in their system, so I have added my password”, she stated.
She then added “We actually came to say thank you to Ghanaians, it’s like you have done something very beautiful, very inspiring, and all of a sudden it’s like you are taking people for granted but inwardly I know what it is and I am telling you what it is. “
