How To Hide Your Active Status on Facebook Messenger

Facebook Messenger can be assessed basically on two (2) mediums, i.e., through the app or the website. Therefore, we are going to show you how you can hide your active status on both mediums. How To Hide Your Active Status on the Facebook Messenger App

Open the Facebook Messenger app on your device
Tap on your profile in the upper left corner of the screen
Tap on Active Status under the Profile section

Next, tap on the toggle next to Show when you’re active to hide your active status

NOTE: The steps outlined above work for both Android and iOS devices.

How To Hide Your Active Status on Facebook Messenger Web

Open a browser on your device and visit Messenger.com
Click on the three dots in the top left corner of the screen
Next, click on Preferences and then click on Turn off Active Status

Choose either to Turn off active status for all contacts, Turn off active status for all contacts except…, or Turn off active status for only some contacts… depending on your preference

Select Okay to complete the settings

NOTE: Hiding your active status means you also wouldn’t be able to view whether someone is online or not.
