How to book Ghana Card appointment online

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has begun piloting its booking and appointment system for the acquisition of the Ghana Card according, to a Classfmonline report.

Although the NIA recently opened over 200 new district offices to expedite the registration and acquisition of Ghana cards, the problem of Ghanaians forming long queues at the various offices persists.




Meanwhile, according to the NIA, the new booking and appointment system aims to fast-track service delivery at the NIA to help reduce waiting time for applicants.

The NIA described its headquarters as the sole Ghana Card premium center offering appointments for Ghana Card acquisitions, replacements, and record updates in a Facebook post.

How to book an Appointment for Ghana Card online

To be able to book an appointment, visit the NIA appointment portal by clicking this link: https://www.appointments.nia.gov.gh/. Please note that this service attracts GHS 250.

Complete the form below with the valid information.

After you are done, select New Registration (Premium Service). Make sure to check the (Select this service) Box.

Choose a favorable date for your appointment, make sure to (load date) to choose the most appropriate date for your Card registration appointment.

Select a time, and click on Submit Appointment to complete the Ghana Card registration appointment. 

How to schedule NIA Card Updates or Replacement

To book an online appointment with the NIA, visit the NIA appointment portal by clicking this link: https://www.appointments.nia.gov.gh/. Please note that this service attracts GHS 30.

Complete the form with the valid information.

After filling the form, select information updates, or Card replacement. Make sure to check the (Select this service) Box.

Choose a favorable date for your appointment, make sure to (load date) to choose the most appropriate date for your NIA Card updates & replacements.

Select a time, and click on Submit Appointment to complete and load your Ghana Card Update or replacement appointment slip. 

How to view or check your Ghana Card Appointment

To check or view your NIA appointment online, visit the Ghana card appointment portal by clicking this link: https://www.appointments.nia.gov.gh/. Please note that this service is free.

Tap on View Appointment.

Enter your phone number and click search.

Your appointment letter will show up.

Note: Finally, applying for the NIA appointment online is free, you will only be required to pay after you visit the NIA head office and submit your forms.

    3.Is it allow to come to the office the day before appointment day?

  • Please i did my GHANA CARD since 2020 till now my district have not recieved it yet so wants to and check it up at shaishie which is the headquarters

      Very sorry about that, yes you can book an appointment at the head office to follow up on your Card. Kindly note that January, February, and March are all full. Choose a later date, please.

  • Please if January, February, March is full, then how can we also register our Sims before the deadline, NIA please do something, if the head office is full, then deploy the card replacement to the district offices to ease the pressure. If you abide with this my little idea it would help all of us.

  • Please can l book appointment to make changes on my Ghana Card? Changes appears on de card at my Date of Birth. Hv already swear an oat at High Court...can l change my Date of Birth to it's normal date?

  • I've tried booking an appointment with the Nia online to have my missing Ghana card replaced but all to no avail...* Can I visit the office without an appointment??? *Will I pay for the police report concerning my missing card???

      Yes currently you cant visit the office without an appointment, and you will need to present your police report.
      What is the exact problem you're facing with the online appointment system, could you let me know. Thank You.

  • After filling the online appointment form, there's no provision for me to submit it...

  • You cannot submit the online appointment after filling in your information... there's no provision for that.... Please check to make things easier for us..

      Ghana Card replacements are only done at the regional offices. Kindly book an appointment to the headquarters to replace your Ghana Card.

      Kindly visit the nearest Ghana Card district office for your card to be scanned again, its free

  • I found it difficult to in booking the appointment if I enter the password it tells me invalid but my password too is correct pls I need your assistance
