Under General select Default Apps or Choose Default Apps

Tap on the Phone app option

A list of the apps that can be replaced as the default phone app will be shown.

NOTE: If you do not find any app for the default phone or SMS after you tap on the Phone app or SMS app in the settings, then it means you do not have any suitable app that can be used as the default app.

In such circumstances, then you may have to go to the Google Play Store to download such apps. If you don’t have any in mind, just type Phone and SMS in the search bar for recommended phone and SMS apps respectively.
