How to File and Pay your Taxes online in Ghana 2021

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has announced that the Ghanaian populace can now File and Pay their taxes online at the comfort of their homes.

The Ghana Revenue Authority is encouraging taxpayers to pay their taxes online or use the alternative method rather than issuing cheques to them.




“To ensure taxpayers use these channels, effective 1st June 2021, all GRA offices will no longer accept personal and corporate cheques for the payment of taxes and levies in any Domestic Tax Revenue Division or Customs Division office,” they stated in a press release.

How to file and pay for Taxes online in Ghana 2021

  • Visit the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) tax filing payment portal by clicking this link: https://gra.gov.gh/file-and-pay-taxes and select the Tax you want to pay.
  • You will be redirected to the Ghana.Gov platform to create an account for the registration.
  • For first-time online taxpayers, create an account and verify your phone number.
  • An SMS with a secret code is going to be sent to you. Enter the secret code to continue to the tax payment dashboard.
  • When on the application dashboard, you will be asked to confirm or create an account with the Integrated Tax Application and Preparation system (iTaPS).
  • Select No Register me, if you have not paid Tax with iTaPS before.
  • On the next screen, fill in your Ghana Card Number/ TIN. You will also fill in your FullName (First Name and your Last Name).
  • Next, answer the questions relating to your nationality and where your Tax office is located.
  • Click on submit to finish setting up your iTaPS account. You will be redirected to the iTaPS dashboard after completion.

You can now file for and pay for taxes, seek tax reliefs and tax exemptions at the comfort of your homes.

  1. Direct Transfer (from account to account)
  2. SWIFT Transfers
  3. ACH (Automatic Clearing House) Transfers
  4. By Debit or Credit cards
  5. By Mobile Money
  6. USSD Mobile
  7. Mobile aps
  8. Internet Banking etc.
