What is Call Forwarding?

Call forwarding is the process whereby incoming calls are rerouted to a secondary number or device. What this means is that, if someone calls the primary number, the call will automatically be directed to the secondary number you provide.

For example, while you are on leave or vacation somewhere outside your workplace or even your country of residence, all new calls will be rerouted to the new number without even getting notified. That sounds cool, right? Now let’s find out how to do it.

How To Forward Calls On Android

There are two (2) main ways you can forward calls on your Android device, you can do so using your Android device itself or contacting your network provider to do this for you. This guide is going to focus on the former. For the latter, you can visit any service center of your network provider for assistance.

To forward calls on Android, follow the steps below.

  1. Open the Phone app
  2. Tap the Menu icon (usually three dots) or the Action Overflow icon
  3. Select Settings and then Call Settings
  4. Tap Call Forwarding (if this does not appear then you must contact your network provider instead)
  5. Select one of the following options: Always forward, Forward when busy, Forward when unanswered, or Forward when unreached
  6. Set the forwarding number
  7. Select Enable or OK

Conclusion

Call forwarding can be a very useful option especially when you are left with no other choice. This way, you can enjoy holidays with your family without your phone buzzing about work.

However, whenever you are done with the holidays, you must disable the call forwarding feature to return to normal call settings. If you forget to disable it, then you will have some challenges with the performance of your calls.
