Snapchat is one of the most widely used social media apps. With over 300m users per day, it is not surprising to see Snapchat top the ranks to become one of the most popular social media apps of our time.
Apart from the usual “text messaging” on Snapchat and other social media apps, Snapchat allows us to send “Snaps” in the form of pictures or video “messages” to our friends or family.Â
On Snapchat, you mainly talk with images/videos, which is a cool feature to have.
Being able to “Snap” isn’t the only interesting thing to do on Snapchat. In 2016 Team Snapchat announced a new feature called Snapstreaks or Streak which encourages “intimacy and retention” amongst friends on Snapchat.Â
A Snapstreak is when two friends send each other a Snaps at least once every 24hrs. Snapchat records every streak sent and gives a score for that.Â
To see you are on a Streak with a contact, Snapchat places a fire emoji beside the contact and a score to alert you to keep the fun going.Â
Unfortunately, sometimes after maintaining the highest Snap score, your Streak may disappear due to an error.
In today’s tutorial, we will be looking at how to restore your Snapchat Streak or Snapstreak.
Snapstreaks has rules. You need to make sure you followed all the Snapchat Streak rules which state that: you should keep in contact with your friend for 24hrs.Â
Although Snapchat doesn’t send reminders of your current Streak end date, you have to keep in touch to maintain it.
If you believe you followed all the Snapstreak rules and your Snapchat Streak disappeared because of an error, here is how to recover it.
You can also use the Snapchat support page to submit your complaints. You can do that by:

A Snapstreak is a commitment you and your friend make to keep sending yourselves photos or videos within a 24-hour timeframe. During that time, a fire emblem(🔥) appears behind your friend’s name alongside a number to represent your Streak record.
A streak work when two people send themselves snaps of their current actions.
These may not be counted as a Streak like:
-Stories: sending in daily stories doesn’t count as a streak even when your friend watches it.
-Memories: sharing memories with your streak friend will not be counted as a Snap Streak.
-Group chats: Streaks will not count when snaps are sent to groups you are on with your friend.
-Texting: texting dodd not count ad a Snapstreak to your friend.
You lost your Streak because you didn’t streak back to your friend. However, there may be instances whereÂ
-Snapchat may not be working properly or
-You have issues with your mobile network
Because you are not notified when your Streak is about to expire, you need to be sending snaps every day to keep you ahead of expiration.Â
