How To Make Money As A New Blogger

As a content writer/blogger, what most people ask anytime they meet me is “how do bloggers make money?” Although I don’t own my own blog, my experience span over a couple of years and this gives me a certain level of authority when explaining it to people.

Since this question has been asked severally, I am going to use this guide to talk about some of the best and most ethical ways you can make money as a blogger, no matter where you live.

As a note of caution, all the methods I am going to share with you in this article will take some time and hard work. If you are willing to do the hard work and ready to commit to making money online, then read on.

How To Make Money As A New Blogger

One of the myths we have in the world, especially in Ghana is that blogging is not a full-time job. There are several people who stay at home and make more money than most people who work ordinary 9 to 5 jobs.

And how are they able to make such a stable income? They understand how the internet works and how they can use that to their advantage. Below are some of the best ways to make money as a blogger.

1. Provide value for your readers

The most important thing people look out for when looking for information online is the value they get from what they are reading. Most new bloggers forget that the main reason why they started was to serve people and not themselves.

Before you even think of what niche to go into, ask yourself how you can provide people value in that niche. One of the common mistakes people do is to use clickbait to get more clicks on irrelevant content.

Once people find out you are not providing them with value, they move to do something else.

2. Apply for Google AdSense

The first step to making money as a blogger is through Google AdSense according to most people. But I think that should be the second step. Once you are able to provide people with value, you can then apply for Google AdSense.

There are some minimum requirements needed to qualify for Google AdSense like some minimum clicks, site visits, the health of your site, etc. Make sure to research them before you apply.

Since this is a foreign company, they pay in dollars for the ads you put on your blog, and based on some metrics, they calculate and pay you each month before the month even ends. Cool, right?

3. Use Affiliate Marketing

This method is best for bloggers who are in a specific niche, for example, technology. If you are in such niches, there are several companies that run affiliate marketing programs where people are able to gain commission from referrals they make to people.

This is the easiest method of making money as a blogger, but it also involves time and patronage. This somehow becomes easier when your numbers start getting bigger.

4. Brand Endorsements

There are a number of companies in Ghana and outside Ghana who are willing to pay massive amounts of money to bloggers to share their products on their websites or social media pages. To get to this level, you must be someone who is in an industry where the respective companies operate in.

But one con about this method is that you must have some number of subscribers or daily active users before you will qualify for this method of monetization. As a new blogger, your consistency and value will help you scale your blog quickly for you to be considered as a blog for such companies.

5. Sell Digital Products

Another method you can use to make money as a blogger is by selling digital products. For example, a tech blog can write an e-book and sell it to its users or other people who are interested in this niche. The digital products you sell must not only be yours but they can also be digital products made by other people or other companies. Once you have the numbers and the following, you can literally sell any digital product.

6. Offer Services

The final method you can use to make money as a blogger is by offering services. As a new blogger, there are several services you can offer. To even consider blogging about a particular niche means you are at least experienced in that field. Once you have the initial idea of venturing into the niche, it means you have the expertise to help someone who is in need of an expert.

For example, someone writing about food and nutrition can offer nutritional services to people who may need a personal nutritional guide or consultant. That’s some cool way to make money, right?

Now, what are you waiting for, just get started and begin making money? But mind you, the road to success is going to be a bit tough but with consistency, persistence, and determination you are good to go.
