I Can Fill O2 Arena Alone-Samini

Ghanaian dancehall artist Samini joins the ongoing debate between Ghanaian artists and Nigerian artists, which was based on filling 02 Arena.

Nigerian artists, such as Burna Boy and Wizkid, have made significant progress in their music careers, filling stadiums and arenas in European countries.

However, this has led to a debate among Ghanaians, who compare Nigerian artists to their own, accusing them of not doing enough. Some Ghanaian artists have expressed their dissatisfaction with the current music industry debate.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Berla Mundi on The Day Show, Samini stated that he does not need to collaborate with famous artists in Ghana to fill O2 Arena if there is the right investment promotions are made, he would fill the O2 Arena.

“By myself, I will fill it, with the right investment, I will fill it. You are talking to Batman that became Samini, batman the MOBO award winner, and Kanya King MOBO award owner knows Batman that became Samini. If the right things are put in place and you promote Samini in London for four months or six months or three months I will fill that place”. He said.

Speaking further he stated that Ghanaians don’t invest in things they do not value, it will be difficult for a typical Ghanaian to invest in someone’s career, especially in the music industry.

He also unveiled that, he had approached investors in Ghana with a business proposal but it all amounts to nothing.

“It is not in their pedigree, it is not our culture, we don’t dish it out like that, yes that is how they are. They spend it on certain things, they chill with you, they pop the champagne with you. But they are not going to give you 500,00 dollars to say, let’s have a business plan about your career, they won’t do it”

“We have approached them with business plans, about our careers, and our road maps and our world tours. From state institutions to private institutions or whatever, they will talk to you, smile at you tell you they will call meetings, and then get back to you, and they won’t do it. Because they don’t see the value, the end value in what they are doing, they don’t see what they will get”.
