I Don’t Take Credit For What I Didn’t Do – Ps. Bennywood.

Pastor Bennywood, a gospel musician and a head Pastor of Makarios City Assembly Of God Church at Teiman, Ameliyan has declined praise given to him by an MC when called to dedicate a newly opened business. The introduction was that he trained the VGMA gospel Artist of the year Joe Mettle to become who is today.

According to him, he immediately declined the praise because that was not true. Upon hearing what the MC said, he shouted ”blood of Jesus this is a big, fat, gigantic lie.”

Joe Mettle was the lead singer for the indigenous multicultural music group, Soul Winners. He won the Artiste of the Year, Gospel Artiste of the Year, and the Male Vocalist Artist of the Year at the 2017 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA). He is a member of the Exhibition Assemblies Of God, Dansoman, and was in the choir with Ps. Bennywood.

The two were friends and were seen so many times before he left the church to become the head pastor of Makarios City Assemblies Of God. 

Joe Mettle is known for his awesome and powerful songs Bono Ni, My Everything, and Yesu Mo. This made Ps. Bennywood declined that claim because he said he didn’t want to take credit for what he didn’t do.

Even though he is also known for his powerful songs “Ofr3, Owura Yesu, and Meyi waye” with 10,000 plays on Audiomack. He believes in giving honor to whom honor is due.
