Most celebrities and influencers use their platforms to meet the needs of individuals and societies across the country. Looking at the likes of Nana Ama McBrown, who recently made a tremendous donation to an orphanage home at Tema.
In an interview, Ghanaian blogger Kobby Kyei shared briefly about his childhood journey, emphasizing how he grew up in a village and is currently in Accra as a blogger.
According to him, he always asks himself how he can help the rural communities in Ghana as a blogger.
“Because growing up in the village, from the documentary you played, that is where I literally grew up. And now, coming to the city, now becoming a blogger, looking at myself and I said God, putting me in this position, what can I do to effect change in the rural communities”. He said.
In the interview, Kobby Kyei disclosed how he used his platform to amplify the voice of the people of Kweikrom. According to him, the source of water for the people in the community was so heartbreaking, he grieved when he saw women and children drinking that same water.
“I have used my platform to provide boreholes for a lot of communities. If you go to Kweikrom, I did a documentary; I went there and sent the video to your producers. I went to the village, and they told me that the source of water was so heartbreaking. The source of water that the whole community depends on. Especially women and children were drinking, I cried that day on set. So I reported the news when I came back, and today as we speak, they have three boreholes”. He stated.
Speaking further, he said, “Just because of the story that I did, the boreholes are going to serve generation after generation”.
