Ghanaian musician Wendy Shay has recently opened up about how she received death threats when she came into the music industry.
Wendy Shay was brought to the limelight in the music industry when she was signed by Rufftown Record label.
In an interview with Andy Dosty, she stated that she does not read messages and comments sent to her on her social media handles.
According to her, she does that because of the consistent cyberbullying she received when she came into the music industry, she explained that many unknown individuals mostly come to her social media handles and sometimes threaten her life.
“I don’t read my comments, but when people like you [Andy Dosty] my managers tell me. I faced a lot of cyberbullying when I came new, so I told myself to heal and protect myself I have not always read messages, maybe once in a while I go through messages and comments to see what is going on”, she stated.
She stressed that this has made her sometimes lose important messages, with some important people in the music industry. But she sometimes reads it once in a while to see if there is an important message for her.
“I got a message from Thriller at that time it was new, they actually wanted to put me on and I missed it so that’s why we actually decided that I’m gonna have my team members also log into my account. I actually face a lot of backlash, I had death threat and all of that when I came to the industry”.
