Ghanaian rapper Osei Kweku Vincent, known in the music industry as Strongman, recently addressed remarks made by Sarkodie regarding payments to former label signees.

Sarkodie, during an interview on the ‘Way Up Show’ with Angela Yee, revealed his ongoing financial support for former artists like Akwaboah and Strongman, despite their departure from his Sarkcess record label.

Sarkodie emphasized his empathetic stance toward these artists, expressing a commitment to their well-being by continuing to financially compensate them even after their departure from the label.

He mentioned retaining a 50 percent share of profits from their work, despite investing his resources, ensuring that the artists receive payments post-label affiliation.

Strongman

“Probably, I was one of the only labels that would give 50/50 percentage while I was putting in the money because that’s what I would ever love for myself. All my artists had a good run with me, and they still get paid though they’re not on my label”. He said.

In response, Strongman shared his perspective on Sarkodie’s statements in a recent interview. He pointed out an interesting point by stating that, in a way, he still financially contributes to Sarkodie’s earnings, despite the fact that he is no longer under his record label.

Strongman

The crux of his argument lies in the royalties generated from songs created during his stay with Sarkodie’s label.

According to him, he has the right to say that because he is been paid for his own song that he recorded. He was part of promoting the song and wrote the song on his own and paid Tubani who produced the beat.

Strongman

“The way Sarkodie said he pays me, I also have the right to say that after leaving the label, I also still pay Sarkodie for the songs I did. Because I’m not paid from other artists’ songs, it is my own songs, I was part of the promotion I wrote the song. Tubani produced the beat and I paid Tubani as well”. He stated.

Sarkodie's fans are angry 😠 about this statement from Strongman but the guy didn't lie. Shame !!!! pic.twitter.com/HCQPIz3Zmr
