I Ventured Into Secular Music But It Didn’t Work – MOG

It’s funny how we dream of becoming one thing and later find ourselves doing the other.

A renowned gospel musician, Nana Yaw Boakye, better known by his stage name MOG, has told his story of how he wanted to venture into secular music but couldn’t pursue it.

During a one-on-one section with Caiquo Wallace Prudent Jr. on the Guide Entertainment show on DGN. MOG said;

“I knew I was called to do gospel, but I rather ventured into secular music when I was trying to find my ground.”

According to his story, his mother stopped him because she didn’t like the style of the secular musicians. That is the piercing of their ears, and how they sometimes behave. He listened to his mom because of the love he had for her. He obeyed her, called it off, and started making gospel music.

He said he recorded one song, “I’m Addicted to You,” which never came out. Indeed, his gospel songs have been a blessing to many and have healed broken hearts.

The songwriter, pastor, and gospel musician have produced lots of songs like “Be Lifted,” “Elohim, “Praise Melodies, “Mala and “Halleluyah,” just to mention a few. He won praise achievement in 2022
