Ghanaian singer shares his experience hosting international events for Ghanaians in the diaspora.
In an interview with Berla Mundi, the Ghanaian star shared the journey of his waves in the music industry and his experience hosting events for Ghanaians in the diaspora.
He stated that, if he had an invite to Afronation Portugal he wouldn’t accept the invitation, His reason is that he does not have the fanbase to mount on such a platform. He has to prepare by working hard in the music industry to increase his fanbase before mounting on such platforms.
“Right now if you call me Afronation I won’t go because I don’t have the people there, I want to work more so when I go I will relate and know I have some people there that I have matched up to. I have to be prepared and I feel I am not prepared.”
Berla Mundi however asked him if he should be invited to Afronation Portugal, Won’t he go?
“No, what am I going to do, because the artists that we say are international, when they go we see, it doesn’t work,” he responded.
According to him since he made waves in 2019, he hosted international events with other artists, and the attendance could have been more encouraging.
“Since I blew up in 2019 I have hosted events in America and Canada, Germany, I go with other artists. If you could hear people singing our songs in the event it means the majority of the audience are Ghanaians. And even with that, they are shy so they don’t even come”.
The “Wettin I Get” hitmaker also emphasized that Ghanaian artist keeps canceling their events in European countries because Ghanaians in the diaspora don’t attend their events.
“Last week I did my show in the UK it was a few people that came, our people I don’t know, all of a sudden things have changed, it used not to be like this”. He said.
