I Write My Own Songs – Yhaw Hero

New artists always emerge in the Ghanaian music scene to capture listeners’ hearts and minds and gain local and international recognition.

Among these artists is a young rising star, Arnold Nii Aryeetey, a musician and songwriter, popularly known as Yhaw Hero. The journey of his music career started with freestyle, which gave him prominence in the music industry when one of his freestyles went viral on TikTok, gaining him more fans.

Yhaw Hero took advantage of his recognition from his freestyle to release his debut single, titled “19 Years”. 

His first single gave him a large audience because of its captivating and relatable lyrics, earning significant streams on major streaming platforms, including Audiomac.

The young artist did not end there, as he followed up on the success of his “19 Years” single with another song titled “Cold War”

This generated many interviews for him on different platforms and an endorsement from prominent individuals and influencers like Don Jazzy and Kojo Sheldon. However, Yhaw Hero shared how he writes his songs and where his inspirations are from. 

In an interview at Entertainment Review on Metro TV, the ‘19 Years” hitmaker disclosed that he started writing his songs when he was in SHS One.

“I started writing songs when I was in SHS one, I basically write about the current status of my life, for instance, if there should be any yawa in my interview I will try creating a freestyle of the situation. So that is how I trained myself because that is how I have written my songs since”. He said.

Speaking further, he said, “So wherever I found myself and a particular concept or a message comes in mind or inspiration from an incident happens, I will just create a song out of it. All the vibes come naturally”.
