“I’ll Send Nima Boys To Prevent GHAMBRO Executives From Attending His Funeral”-Akosua Agyapong.

Days after the death of the legendary high-life musician Kwadwo Akwoboah, popularly known in the music industry as Akwaboah Sr., the father of songwriter and high-life musician Akwabaoh Jr. has raised concerns about being neglected by the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMBRO).

This news follows after the veteran high-life musician and dancer Akosua Agyapong complained bitterly about how the Ghana Music Rights Organization neglects most musicians when they need any assistance from them.

During an interview with Tony Best on Entertainment 360 on Akoma FM, the musician voiced out that those at the GHAMBRO enjoy the money Ghana musicians make, but they give them very little out of it. She mentioned that, as of GHAMRO’s 2021 annual report, royalty received GH433,000 as commission. Akosua Agyapong further went on to say GHAMBRO executives receive GH132,000 in seating compensation and refreshments for their board meetings.

She was so furious and sad, which made her promise that she would send “Nima boys” to prevent GHAMBRO from attending the funeral when she sees them at the one-week celebration of the late Akwaboah Sr. because he once confided in her and told her he (the late Akwaboah Sr.) receives only GHS250 as his royalty fees.

“What can GHS250 do for him as old as he is?” She asked. From all indications, we can see that the musician is very pained at the death of the late Kwadwo Akwaboah, and she is also disappointed in GHAMBRO for failing to be able to assist when he needed help.
