The Minister of Energy Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh dared Ghanaians asking for the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to provide a load-shedding timetable to provide their own timetable schedules if they have one.
The comment from the Energy Minister comes due to the prevailing power outages in the country, precisely the Greater Accra region which is potentially affecting firms, individuals, and businesses in Ghana.
As a result, Ghanaians have been consistently requesting for an official load-shedding timetable to have prior preparation for power outages.
Despite the persistent request from Ghanaians for ECG to provide a timetable, ECG has refused to provide one, because according to them there is no “dumsor” situation however, providing a “dumsor” timetable is unnecessary.
However, Dr. Matthew Opoku speaking to reporters at the inauguration of the campaign team in the Ashanti Region dares critics to provide their own load-shedding timetable if they think it is necessary to do so.
“Ask those who want it to bring it if there is. I haven’t seen any timetable. The ECG says that there’s no timetable coming, why do you want to bring a timetable, for what purpose? Why would somebody wake up and wish evil and wish bad for the country? When it is not planned, you can’t tell the person.” He said.
