Hurray!! February, the month of love, just arrived, which sees many individuals filled with the strength and excitement of showing love and affection to significant people, recognizing and appreciating love in their lives.
Many descriptions have been given to love, to some, love is a universal emotion that cuts beyond the barriers of language, culture, and time. It serves as the link that ties us to one another and strengthens our bonds with those around us.
This means that it’s time to show our loved ones how much we care by giving them heartfelt cards and presents on Valentine’s Day.
However, it’s not just about romantic love, as many always think. February is meant to honor all of the different ways that love manifests. Love for our friends, family, coworkers, and most importantly, love for ourselves.
Now, I’ve got a little advice, always take time for self-love and self-care. You’ve got to have those vibes before you can spread love to others. It’s like, you can’t share what you don’t have, right?
However, the question is are you obligated to buy gifts for your loved ones on Valentine’s Day? Many individuals have the notion that when they are in a relationship with someone, especially the ladies, and it is Valentine’s, their partner is under obligation to get them a gift.
First, I don’t think someone should be obligated to buy a gift for his or her partner, it is something done out of love, and a season to show kindness.
It should not be a moment of feeling pressured, even if you expect to receive one from your partner, it doesn’t make your partner obligated to give one. If someone appreciates or has love for you, the person will share a gift with you in his or her way.
But the mistake is that we always want it to be like the ways of others, everyone has his or her own way of showing love when it comes to giving gifts. Also, remember that it is always not going to be something big, as people always expect, but something to show that your partner appreciates you.
Gifts do not define the relationship, so they should not be an obligation but rather a symbol of appreciation for the person you are in a relationship with.
