Manchester City Win Their First Champions League

Manchester City, established in 1980, lifted their first Champions League trophy and made history.

The Cityzens, for the past few seasons, have been working tirelessly to win the Champions League, which always ends unsuccessfully for them.

Manchester City has appeared three times in the quarter-finals, two in the semi-finals, and once in the finals, where they lost the trophy to Chelsea FC.

On June 10, 2023, it was an epic Saturday night for all citizens and lovers of football as Rodri’s second-half strike was enough to seal a 1-0 win at Istanbul’s Ataturk Olympic Stadium and bring a successful end to one of the great seasons in English football history.

Manchester City, the Premier League, and FA Cup winners, became the second English club to win the treble after beating Inter Milan to secure the first Champions League title in club history.

Manchester United was, however, the first English club to achieve a treble in 1990.

It was, however, not the first time for Pep Guardiola, since he achieved a treble with Barcelona in 2009.

Inter was not anticipated to make this a difficult match, however, Inzaghi and his team demonstrated why they had a perfect record in finals as they completely unsettled City from the start, something that Real Madrid and Bayern Munich did not come close to doing.

Even after losing one of the few opportunities they gave City, the Nerazzurri continued to act as though they could win the match.
