My Husband Is Also Crushing On Omotola-Afua Asantewaa Defends Her Admiration For Kuami Eugene.

Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, who made headlines for her Guinness World Record-breaking singing marathon, found herself at the center of a lighthearted debate after openly expressing her admiration for  Kuami Eugene.

Her humorous confession about how Eugene’s unexpected appearance affected her singing during the marathon sparked a playful discussion but also attracted some criticism from social media users.

In an interview with Joy Prime, Asantewaa playfully mentioned Kuami Eugene as her crush, highlighting how his surprise visit disrupted her performance during the sing-a-thon. Her candid remarks added a touch of humor to her experience, mentioning that his presence led her to momentarily forget lyrics, remarking, “I said that guy came, and I could not remember my lyrics. I said ‘this guy has worried me.’ If Guinness people don’t give me the record, it’s Kuami Eugene.”

Sharing further details of the incident, Asantewaa jovially narrated how her admiration for the artist caused a brief lapse in her performance. “My husband knows. So when he got there I said ‘Kuami, you have worried me. You shouldn’t have come. I sang ‘Asuoden’ and you know his rap comes after. As I stood there, I did everything I couldn’t remember.”

However, what Asantewaa intended as a light-hearted comment turned into a topic of discussion on social media, prompting debates about the appropriateness of a married woman openly acknowledging someone other than her partner as her crush. While some dismissed it as harmless humor, others criticized her for the comment.

Responding to the buzz and backlash on her Instagram Story, Afua Asantewaa addressed the situation with her trademark wit and grace.

She wrote, “Aaaw, jokes turn bitter pills. Husby sef his crush is Omotola (Honey will say ah bebe). Don’t give yourselves a headache, wai na life is too short. Wear Ghana, Eat Ghana, and Tour Ghana to know Ghana.”
