My sister died due to lack of urgency at the hospital – Andy Dosty

Ghanaian Gospel Musician Koda passed on the 21 of April 2024 which has triggered many discussions on entertainment platforms among Ghanaians.

The discussion became more intense when a video of Koda lamenting about taking the wrong medication for about six to eight months.

In the video, he lamented that during these six to eight months he has been taking this medication daily. According to him, he was uncomfortable with the medication, hence scheduling a meeting with his doctor.

In his check-up with the doctor, he asked why he was given a medication that contains sulfur while he is G6PD (Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase), and all the doctor could say was sorry.

However Ghanaian radio presenter Andy Dosty also shared how his elder sister allegedly died due to a nurse’s lack of urgency at Tema General Hospital.

According to Andy Dosty, the nurse was supposed to administer medication, but the nurse refused to do that because his shift time was over, hence leaving, meanwhile, the next nurse to replace him was not yet in.

He explained further that the nurse truly took his stuff and was leaving, he had to furiously confront the nurse to treat his sister to the extent someone had to intervene before the nurse attempted to administer the medication.

“My elder sister was admitted there  I have been going there, and I felt like why don’t we get her a special ward, because honestly I wasn’t very comfortable with where she was, I did not make the request on time so the next day it can be done.

And there was this nurse who was present at the moment, and was asked to administer medication because it was time for her to take her medication, the guy said he had closed, and his time was over. Meanwhile, the next who is supposed to change him”

“As I turned the guy picked up his bag, stepped out and he was going so I rushed him outside and held him. So someone that approached us and was like oh boss Andy wossop, am like yoo this and that, and then he was like oh you don’t know him” he stated.
