Names of Angels and their Duties

Have you been wondering about the names of Angels and their duties in the Bible? Angels are spirit beings who, according to the bible, existed before man and were part of God’s creation.

Angels are believed to have wings but that was not clarified in the Bible, however, the appearance of an angel depends on the angel’s position or duty assigned to that particular angle.

Angels are believed to reside in heaven but mostly dwell among human beings on earth purposely to serve as an intermediary between God and human beings.

They deliver God’s message to human beings and also performs duty assigned to them by God. It is also believed that they are assigned to every human being on earth to serve as a guardian.

The Bible refers to angels from Genesis to Revelation. In the King James edition, the term angels occurs 285 times and that is 108 times in the Old Testament and 177 times in the New Testament.  The term is found in 35 Bible books (17 Old Testament and 18 New Testament).
