Okyeame Kwame Sets the Record Straight On His Political Ideologies

Ghanaian rapper Okyeame Kwame wants everyone to know that he’s not part of Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia’s political committee. In a statement released on February 24, 2024, Okyeame Kwame clarified that he hasn’t officially been appointed to any political role and hasn’t been paid for it.

Okyeame Kwame was initially listed as a member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Manifesto Committee for tourism, arts, and culture. However, in his recent statement, he made it clear that he’s not politically affiliated and hasn’t joined any committee.

In the press release, Okyeame Kwame said he’s not officially part of the committee and hasn’t received any payment from the Vice President’s campaign team.

“I wish to reassure my respected following and reiterate that I remain non-partisan and apolitical, as I have been throughout my entire career. I have not been paid by H.E. The Vice President’s campaign team to be a member of the committee for the arts and tourism manifesto nor have I officially been invited on my terms as non-partisan participant,” he noted.

Okyeame Kwame stressed that he has stayed neutral in politics throughout his career. On that note he wants everyone to know that he’s open to working with any political party, regardless of their affiliation, if they want his input on arts and culture. He’s ready to offer his insights to any party interested in his expertise, whether it’s the NPP, NDC, CPP, or even independent groups.

“Indeed, when it comes to contributing policy opinion towards the advancement of the Arts and Culture in Ghana, I am respectfully open to all political or ideological persuasions, be they NPP, NDC, CPP, Independent, or other, that may want me to openly and sincerely lend my knowledge to develop this Nobel industry,

The ‘Small Small’ hitmaker made it clear that he’s a dedicated professional, and he appreciates the recognition from Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and the NPP’s campaign team, even though he’s not officially involved in their committee.

“That said, in utmost humility, I wish to express my profound appreciation to His Excellency the Vice President’s Campaign Team, for thinking my experience and intellect is worthy enough for consideration,” the press release states.
