High school is one of the best stages of education in every individual’s life. No matter where you live or stay, a high school is a place you don’t want to miss as you are schooling.

In some parts of the world like Ghana, high school is a time when most people move away from their parents and live their lives alone under the supervision of their teachers. But in some of the western countries like the United States, most high schools operate like what we call “Community Day Schools” in Ghana.

This means that when you wake up in the morning, you bathe, eat, and go to school and once you close, you come back home to your parents, guardians, or whoever you are living with. This means that you still don’t have your own freedom.

The long and short of this is that, in the United States, every student looks up to their college days because that is the only time they get the chance to live their lives independently without any supervision.

Brief About All American

Before we jump into the review of the All American Homecoming series, it will be good if we briefly look at the background story on which the spinoff is based. All American is an American high school series based on high school football players, the main being Spencer James (Daniel Ezra).

The story is about how these young athletes go about their daily lives outside the field in terms of their finances, family issues, relationships, injuries, mental health, etc. The series mainly focuses on two high schools Crenshaw High and Beverly High located at Crenshaw and Beverly Hills respectively.

After graduating from Beverly High in Beverly Hills, California, Simone (Geffri Maya) moves to Bringston College to continue her education, whiles focusing on her tennis career. Also, in Bringston is Damon a baseball player who also chose to come to Bringston even though that wasn’t his first choice.

The series is a spin-off for one of the characters from the All American series, Simone, a young tennis hopeful who is trying to fight her way back to the top. Damon is also an elite baseball from Chicago who is carrying the team on his shoulders.

Simone’s aunt, Amara Patterson, a journalism professor made a major expose on the baseball program shook the school’s baseball team and the effect is still affecting the team. After the scandal, the new coach Marcus Turner is on a path to bring the team back on the right track with the help of his new player Damon and his friend JR.

Meanwhile, as Simone struggles to find her footing, she will get a little guidance from Thea, the super-competitive queen bee of the Bringston tennis team, and Keisha, the school’s unofficial mayor, who will help Simone learn how to live her best life. As they contend with the high stakes of college sports, Simone and Damon will also navigate the highs, lows, and sexiness of unsupervised early adulthood at a prestigious HBCU.
