Ghanaian rapper Edem, recognized for his musical prowess and vibrant presence in the entertainment scene, found himself amid an unforeseen and tragic incident on December 10, 2023. Reports emerged detailing an accident involving Edem’s vehicle and a pedestrian, resulting in the loss of a woman’s life on the George Walker Bush Highway.
The incident, as described by the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) police, unfolded after the rapper’s appearance on the United Showbiz program. Allegedly, a woman in her 40s, reportedly naked, abruptly crossed Edem’s path, leading to a nearly fatal collision that caused Edem’s car to overturn.
Edem’s management team swiftly provided details about the accident, shedding light on the rapper’s narrow escape from what could have been a tragic fate. The vehicle overturning following the impact, fortunately, left Edem unharmed. The rapper, known for his commitment to his craft and fans, assured everyone of his safety and pledged full cooperation with the ongoing investigation.
However, amidst this unfortunate incident, there were sobering reports that the woman involved in the accident later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. The gravity of the situation escalated as the case made its way into the legal domain.
Edem, cooperative with law enforcement, faced legal procedures and was brought to court on December 11, 2023. During the court appearance, he was granted bail set at GH₵50,000.
