The landlord rapper in Ghana Music Industry, Sarkodie, acknowledged Derrick Sarfo Kantanka, popularly known as Amerado, for his hard work in the music industry.
Amerado won the best rap performance at the 24th VGMAs with his “Obiaa Boa” song, competing with Medikal, Lyrical Joe, Strongman, and Teephlow in the Vodafone Best Rap Performance.
On the podium, the fast rising rapper Amerado gave thanks and appreciated his fans and all Kumasi rappers. He went further to thank TV presenter Doris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay.
The Abotre hitmaker also shares how he struggled to come to this point in his music career. Upon receiving the award, he said, “I am really tired.” He said in twi.
However, Sarkodie, the eight-time Best Rapper of the Year winner who has made waves in the music rap industry for decades, took to social media to congratulate Amerado on winning the award.
On his Instagram account, he posted Amerado’s picture with a crown emoji and captioned “Congrats young @ameradoburner”.
Delay is not indeed denial; Amerado has been nominated for the best rapper of the year for the past two years and has never won it. This did not discourage him from putting in his very best effort to win the award.
