On July 5, 1994, Jeff Bezos launched Amazon in his garage in Bellevue, Washington. It began as a book-selling website, but has now evolved to include gadgets, software, video games, fashion, furniture, cuisine, toys, and jewelry. By market capitalization, Amazon surpassed Walmart as the most valuable retailer in the United States in 2015.
