There are different traditional wear in Ghana which include Kaba and slit, Fugu or Batakari, Kaftan, Jokoto, Ntama, Abaya or Jalabiya, and smock just to mention a few.

But today we will be talking about the famous Kaba and Slit, a traditional outfit in Ghana worn by the Ghanaian beautiful ladies.

Kaba and Slit is a traditional Ghanaian outfit predominantly worn by Ghanaian women. The outfit consists of a loose-fitting blouse (Kaba) and a matching, often form-fitting, long skirt (Slit). Kaba and Slit is known for its dazzling and colorful patterns, often made from high-quality fabrics such as wax prints, kente, and batik.

These outfits are worn on various occasions, including festivals, weddings, and other cultural events. The vibrant colors and intricate designs make Kaba and Slit a visual feast, celebrating the artistic expression of Ghanaian culture.

Due to the popularity of the Kaba and slit in Ghana, Ruuts Africans have taken it upon themselves to come up with a festival called Kaba and Slit Festival which is meant to be celebrated and observed annually.

Ghanaians primarily celebrate the Kaba and Slit festival as a way to showcase their heritage, culture, and fashion, as well as to network and work together with textile manufacturers and other fashion industry partners.
