They Forced Me To Crown Kwame Eugene As The King Of Highlife – Amakye Dede

Ghanaian hiplife legend Amakye Dede regrets crowning Kwame Eugene as the Highlife King.

In 2019, after a spectacular and electrifying performance with Kwame Eugene on Vodafone Ghana Music Award, Amakye Dede crowned the young artist as his successor.

The Hip Life legend put a crown on the head of Kwame Eugene signifying the transition of the new Highlife king. 

A gesture that got many talking about, and praising Amakye Dede for recognizing the hard work of Kwame Eugene in the real hiplife music.

However, a recent revelation by Amaky Dede has surprised and sparked discussions in the music industry. The Highlife legend expressed regret for crowning the Angela hitmaker as the king of Highlife.

In a recent interview on Asaase radio, Amakye Dede openly expressed his regret for crowning Kwame Eugene. He admitted that his decision was influenced by a group of people. 

During the interview, Amakye Dede was asked by the host about what Kwame Eugene has done in the music industry to deserve the crown and what really made him crowned him.

“Though I did that, but it was not my will to do that, but they forced me that I have to crown the young man, and that is the reason why I did that. The crown they gave to me for the coronation, I gave it to someone to put it down. It was later they told me I had to crown him, so I did”.
